Old people used to say about me This is a girl named Gul who speaks Naya
اس کی قربت میں تو خاموش ہی رہتی ہوں میں گل
میری چوڑی میرے آنچل کی ادا بولتی ہے

A ghazal as a sample from Gulfam Sahiba's poetry is offered to the readers
When my anklet speaks Katha
I keep quiet, Ghanghor speaks softly
The knocks are on the closed shafts
Wasal's when she prays on my lips
Old people used to say about me
This is a girl named Gul who speaks Naya
Tell me what is the beating of my heart
If you don't take your name, what does it say?
It sings love songs and there is silence
When Abla pa speaks in Aashiqui Dasht
Who has the courage to touch your soil?
If modesty speaks in your tone
I have brought a letter of your name
The wind whispers through the earring
I remain silent in his proximity
My bangle speaks for my aanchal
Gulfam Naqvi
